The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong

Plot: If you haven't read The Summoning then STOP HERE:

Okay...so your obviously past that one so let's move on to The Awakening. This is just one of those books that you just have to keep going on...no matter what, you just HAVE to know what happens next. I love Kelley Armstrong's style of writing, and the second book in this series just ties up SOME loose ends, but your really still not sure about why some of the things are happening. The gang is still on the search for Derek and Simon's dad in hopes that he will be able to unravel the mystery of the Edison Group, and Chloe is still learning how to harness her power as a necromancer (Someone who raises the dead). So basically they are still on the run...and still searching for answers, and keeping you on the edge of your seat.

Review: I really enjoyed this one, and was counting down its release date. I'll definitely be picking up the third installment in the Darkest Powers Series when it comes out. So if you liked The Summoning, this one is a gimme...you just have to continue the story of lovable Chloe Saunders.

Plot: Megan's taken a job at the country's top amusement park, Thrill Ride, against her new steady boyfriends wishes. It will be hard being away from her friends and family, but it's better than being stuck in Texas for the summer listening to her Mother and sister argue over summer wedding plans. After getting settled in, Megan gets a little taste of freedom. Living in a dorm, working by day, and partying by night with her sexy co-worker Parker, what could be better? Can her budding new relationship withstand a summer apart and while she's hanging around a hot new boy?

Review: Uber cute fluffy teen romance. Makes me wish to be 17 again. :) This one is a quick, fun little read. If you feel like getting wrapped up in a drama fill teen love story...read it.

Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr

Plot: Okay, if you haven't read Wicked Lovely or Ink Exchange STOP HERE; but if you have...proceed :)

"Seth never expected he would want to settle down with anyone—but that was before Aislinn. She is everything he'd ever dreamed of, and he wants to be with her forever. Forever takes on new meaning, though, when your girlfriend is an immortal faery queen.
Aislinn never expected to rule the very creatures who'd always terrified her—but that was before Keenan. He stole her mortality to make her a monarch, and now she faces challenges and enticements beyond any she'd ever imagined.
In Melissa Marr's third mesmerizing tale of Faerie, Seth and Aislinn struggle to stay true to themselves and each other in a milieu of shadowy rules and shifting allegiances, where old friends become new enemies and one wrong move could plunge the Earth into chaos."

This book pretty much picks up pretty much where Wicked Lovely stopped. Of course it is critical to have read ink exchange as well to understand why Naill is so upset with the summer court, but this was a great set up for the next book in the series. I love how this book details Aislinn's struggle within herself to hold on to her mortal love (Seth) and push the faery king's (Keenan) advances aside. I finished the book, I was sad that is was over...I wanted to keep going. Can't wait until book four hits the shelves.

Review: Awesome read, dark and twisted in the best way. I can totally picture this series as movies or TV shows, great detail in her setting descriptions. Gotta get this one!

Plot: Zara is sent off to live with her Grandmother in some little town in Maine because after her father's death her mother cannot care for own teenage daughter. When Zara meets her new classmates she developed connections with the sexy Nick and the overachiever Ian and finds she not the only one who notices something weirds going on. Zara soon learns this little town in Maine has a history of teenage boys going missing that is now repeating itself. Zara learns that a pixie king is kidnapping these boys to relieve his need, hunger for blood and will continue to do this until he is mated with a queen. It's up to Zara to untangle this mysterious web of secrets and save these boys.
Okay the stalking faery in the woods hooked me! Plus he leaves trails of gold glitter everywhere he goes, so it's proof she's not crazy, that he is actually real. I just wish a little more happened with the love interest in this book. Other than that excellent Read!
Review: If you are a Twilight fan, you'll love this book.

Plot: Jennifer Harris has exactly one friend in her entire elementary school...Carmeron Quick. They are both out casted geeks who only fit in with each other. They are constantly teased and ridiculed. They desperate cling to each others companionship, and hold on to each other for dear life...that is until Carmeron disappears without a word. Jennifer is stunned when her classmates inform her that Carmeron is dead and she totally closes down, until her mom finally finishes night school, remarries and moves them into a better neighborhood at the start of her high school career. This move gives Jennifer Harris a chance to reinvent herself as Jenna Vaugh and finally be in the in crowd. Things are finally going great for Jenna, she's got the right friends, the right clothes and the right boyfriend...so why does she still feel like something is missing?

Okay...let me just say this book is NOT a typical YA romance novel. It's filled with some very deep and emotional issues that effect kids everyday, but is rarely discussed openly.

Review: I kept reading because it had some amazing flash backs that left me hanging and I just had to know how these flash backs helped shape Jenna. I enjoyed this book...until the very end. It didn't leave me with much closer and this is not the type of book that has a sequel, so if you don't like open endings...this ones for you.
