My Thoughts: 

And who says the vampire genre is dead? The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa has renewed my faith in blood thirsty, kick-ass vampires. Finally we have a teenage vampire who isn't afraid to sink her fangs into someone when the time comes.

Allie begins as a human who hates vampires in the beginning of the novel, which is a great place to start. We find out from her why vampires are so evil. Then later on in the novel when she becomes one, we understand her personal self-loathing at times.

I did enjoy this novel, however, I will warn you, it took me a while to get into this one. Nearly 150 pages. Things for me didn't pick up until Allie leaves the vampire city and runs into Zeke. I loved reading about the crew of drifter Zeke was with, and how they were on a quest to find a vampire free paradise called Eden. Get past the beginning, and I promise there's vampire action!!

The picture below I found while looking up book cover images. Apparently, this was a cover outtake, but I admit I love this picture. It's perfect for Allie's character!

I also read that this novel is in the works to become a movie!! So you better act fast and read this one before the craze hits!

Overall, I say read it if you are a vampire fan, or love I AM LEGEND or just a fan of kick-butt heroines!

Breaking Dawn Teaser Trailer!

So it begins...



Be sure to set your DVRs to MTV Sunday night at 9pm for the MTV movie awards where the full trailer will be revealed for The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part One. I can't wait to see how they are going to film the "fade to black" scene from the book. LOL I swear through the ENTIRE series I was waiting for that one scene because of all the build up and what do we get? A freakin' fade to black scene with the aftermath revealed the next day. Let's hope film number four is a good one!

Bad Boys Make Me Melt: 10 of the Hottest of the Bad!

There's just something about a bad boy isn't there? I mean, come on, tell me you didn't have a little soft spot for that rebel guy in your high school. The one who wasn't afraid to flip off a teacher, pull a prank or ride a motorcycle. Is it because they are rebels living without a cause. Out to raise hell and say a big F.U. to all authority?

Who knows really why we love them. I just know when a book throws in the residential bad boy, who is well written, that book quickly jumps to my OMGILOVETHISBOOKSOMUCHYOUSHOULDALLREADITRIGHTNOW stack. *sigh* I love them. Let's face it, sex sells, and these boys are the epitome of hotness. Here's my list in no particular order of hotness and a few videos to go with it. Damon Salvatore: Seriously Does It Get Any Better?

So last night I was up watching the last four Vampire Diaries on my DVR and I couldn't help thinking about how great a character Damon Salvatore is. I mean, not only is he hot, but he is so complex. He himself can't figure what his place is in the story. He really wants to be bad, but for Elaina he'd change everything. He'd become a good guy. His love for Elaina drives him so wild he feels the need to constantly distract himself because he knows he can never have her. *Sigh* I just love him. Srsly, look at him. Could they have picked a better guy to play Damon.

I Am Number Four Movie!!

OMG you guys! Did you know the YA novel I AM NUMBER FOUR is going to be a movie?!?! I haven't gotten around to reading this one yet, but if the book is as action packed as this trailer...SIGN ME UP! LOL

Red Riding Hood by Director Cathrine Hardwick

OMG you guys! Have you seen this trailer yet? This trailer looked amazing last night when it played right before Harry Potter and I'm stoked that Cathrine Hardwick directed it. She was the director of the first Twilight movie and I think she grasps romantic concepts well.

So anyway, here it is. Check it out and let me know if you're excited to see this one when it hits theaters March 2011.

Watch Out Harry, There's a Hot New Half-Blood In Town

As a young adult writer, a giddy feeling of excitment always stirs inside me when I see a YA novel turned into a film(YAYAYAYA For us writers!!), and I always support them by buying my ticket to watch it on the big screen. Percy Jackson and the Olypians:The Lightening Theif was no exception.

"Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. And that's the least of his troubles. Lately, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. And worse, he's angered a few of them. Now Percy and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. While my favorite boy wizard, Harry Potter, will always hold a special place in my heart, I think I can clear out some space for one of my new favorite fantasy adventurers, Percy Jackson. I really didn't expect much going into the theather, partly because I haven't read the book yet (I know...I suck. Bad Writer!! HEHE), so I had no high standard to be met. Well, I'm happy to say I was pleasently surprized. The characters were fun and engaging, and I really got into the film because I actually cared what happened to them, which is how you know it's an excellent story.

I've been told that Percy was made a little older in the film than in the books to help draw crowds, and if that's the case, well done. The adventure Percy and the other half-bloods go on would be a little less believable if he was any younger.

So basically, I just wanted to tell you all I watched the movie last night, and it kicks ass! Go out and see it, I think you'll like it.

Review: Okay, I had no idea this is a soon to be released movie as well...But let me just say the book was seriously creepy. Jennifer Check is the weirdest character I have read in a YA novel in quite a while. I can't wait to see this movie, if it's like the book I don't think I'll be disappointed. :)
